WhatsApp is exploring a new feature that would display advertisements in the app for the first time, the FT reported.

According to the report, Meta is also debating whether to charge a subscription fee to use the app without advertisements, even though many insiders at the business were opposed to the idea.
WhatsApp's top executive, denied the Financial Times report on Friday that claimed the company was looking at advertising as a way to increase revenue.
“This @FT story is false. We aren’t doing this,” WhatsApp head Will Cathcart said in a post on social media X, formerly known as Twitter.
